On Saturday, July 27, a kind-hearted stranger made a life-saving decision. In the middle of a busy Pretoria street, they spotted a small, oil-covered, exhausted, and hungry pup dodging speeding taxis and cars. How long had he been struggling to survive? Where had he come from? Those questions remain a mystery. But one thing was certain—he wasn’t staying there.
The rescuer took him home, gave him a warm bath, fed him, and reached out to Lab Rescue for help in finding him a home. At just the right moment, a family had been searching for a pup to adopt, and we took him into foster care while the necessary home check was completed.
For two days, Charlie became the star of our office, stealing hearts left and right. Productivity hit an all-time low as staff lined up for their turn at puppy snuggles. Charlie made sure no one got too comfortable—barking out orders, running wild, and turning grown men and women into his personal cleanup crew. Deep down, a few people secretly hoped his home check wouldn’t work out, just so he could stay a little longer. 😉
But on Thursday, August 1, Charlie went to his forever home, where he will be safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of his life. His story could have ended so differently, but thanks to quick-thinking rescuers and a loving new family, he now has a future full of love, security, and endless adventures. ❤️🐶
