A deeply loving and intuitive companion with a gentle heart and an extraordinary capacity for connection.

Personality & Quirks

Shadow is an affectionate, loyal dog who forms strong bonds with his people and genuinely enjoys being part of family life. He has a sweet, trusting nature and is described as one of the most loving dogs his family has known. Remarkably intuitive, he has previously provided comfort and companionship during difficult times. He enjoys affection, inclusion and simply being close to the people he loves.

Compatibility

Shadow has lived with children and is reported to be good with them, with no aggression incidents. He is also good with cats and has lived alongside them. With other dogs, he needs thoughtful introductions and can be reactive when on lead, particularly around small barking dogs. His surrender information also notes issues with people of colour, which prospective adopters should be prepared to approach sensitively and responsibly.

Daily Life & Favourite Things

Shadow enjoys being with his family and is happiest when included in everyday life. He loves affection and companionship and has a calm, reassuring presence. He has received puppy school and basic training and is housetrained. While he does not currently walk without pulling, he enjoys swimming and would benefit from patient, positive guidance to help him continue developing confidence and good lead manners.

Ideal Home

Shadow needs a family who will appreciate his affectionate nature while giving him the patience and understanding required to settle into a new environment. His ideal home will be committed to careful introductions with other dogs, mindful management around his known triggers, and continued positive training. A family who values companionship and is prepared to give him consistent care and attention would suit him beautifully.

Shadow is being rehomed after a deeply difficult family decision, with his current family wanting to ensure he receives the ongoing care and companionship he deserves. He has so much love to give and has already shown what a wonderful emotional companion he can be. For the right family, Shadow has the potential to become a deeply cherished and loyal part of everyday life.
