A devoted young dog who needs guidance, structure, and the right match

Marli is a young Labrador–Golden Retriever cross with a strong bond to his home and people. He is affectionate with his family, confident in familiar spaces, and happiest when he knows his role and boundaries. Like many adolescent dogs, he is still learning how to navigate the world and needs calm, consistent leadership to thrive.

Personality & Temperament

Marli is protective, alert, and people-focused. In the home, he is affectionate and engaged, enjoying being part of daily life and keeping an eye on his surroundings. He is still immature and has not had formal training, so structure, routine, and positive guidance will be essential for him to settle and grow into a balanced adult dog.

Social & Pet Compatibility

Marli would do best as an only dog. He has struggled with smaller dogs and is not suitable for homes with other dogs or cats. While he is good with children in his home, he requires supervision and clear management, and would be best placed with dog-savvy teens or adults who understand canine behaviour and boundaries.

Daily Life & Habits

He is housetrained and comfortable sleeping both indoors and outdoors. On walks, he will need guidance and training to improve lead manners. A secure property and controlled introductions to new people will help him feel safe and supported.

Ideal Home

Marli needs an experienced, committed adopter who can provide consistency, training, and a calm environment. A home where he is the only pet, with secure fencing and clear routines, will give him the best chance to succeed.
