A big-hearted Lab with a playful spirit and lots of love to give
Hartjie is a mature yellow Labrador with a warm, affectionate nature and a zest for life. She has grown up as part of a family and thrives on interaction, play, and attention from her people. Her sweet eyes and gentle manners make her easy to love and a joy to have around.
Personality & Temperament
Hartjie is super playful and very affectionate, especially with people and children. She loves interactive games like tug-of-war with her rope and happily chases balls — often bringing them back for another round. She enjoys being engaged and included, and her happy energy shines when she’s spending time with her humans.
Social & Pet Compatibility
Hartjie is great with children and enjoys human company, but she can be reactive to other dogs and would need careful introductions. She has a strong bond with her Jack Russell companion, Fielies, and the two are closely attached. She is not suitable for homes with cats. A calm home environment with understanding adopters will help her feel secure.
Daily Life & Favourite Activities
She enjoys swimming, outdoor time, and play sessions, and is comfortable sleeping outdoors. Hartjie has basic training and knows commands like sit and lie down. She will benefit from continued gentle training, especially with lead manners and routine.
Ideal Home
Hartjie would do best in a home with patient, dog-savvy adopters who understand her sensitivities and can offer consistency and reassurance. A secure property and a stable routine will allow her to relax and flourish. Keeping her with her bonded companion, Fielies, would be ideal if possible.
Hartjie’s heart is full of love — she’s simply waiting for the right home to share it with.
