Archer is a loyal, affectionate companion with a huge heart and plenty of love to give. He is a loving and energetic Labrador who enjoys being close to his people and follows them wherever they go. He is naturally very protective of his owners and the things he considers his, and he has a particularly endearing love of food.
Personality & Quirks:
Archer is affectionate, energetic and very people-focused. He enjoys attention and has lots of love to give. He is also protective and resource guarding, particularly around food and things he has claimed, such as a piece of wood. He can growl and snap when these possessions are approached, so his new family will need to understand and manage this behaviour thoughtfully.
Compatibility:
Archer has lived with children and has been described as good with them. He currently lives with another dog, but he is not immediately comfortable with other dogs and needs an introduction. He is not suitable for a home with cats, and his resource guarding means his new family should be prepared to give him appropriate boundaries and management around possessions and food.
Daily Life & Favourite Things:
Archer enjoys affection, food and staying close to his people. He has had basic obedience training and walks well on a lead without pulling. He is house-trained and sleeps indoors, making him accustomed to being part of family life. He is energetic and enjoys swimming, although he does not enjoy car rides.
