Why Donate?

Labrador Rescue SA rehomes or is involved in the rehoming of close to 800 dogs a year.

We run entirely on donations and with the help of volunteers. No person involved with Labrador Rescue SA is paid for their services and in most cases, are not even reimbursed for what they spend. A sad but true situation as every cent we receive is used on the dogs.

Although we don’t have our own kennels, when we need to, we use the facilities of top commercial kennels countrywide and although we are sponsored to an extent by them, kennel bills are a huge expense for us.

Even more so, if the dog needs any kind of rehabilitation and needs to spend time in a kennel environment being helped by a behaviourist before enabling us to rehome.

We insist on every dog we home being sterilized and inoculated and try very hard to micro chip at our expense as well, but this is not always possible.

We have the assistance of amazing vets countrywide who also allow us a rescue reduced rate but this still equates to a lots of money every month on vets bills.

We cannot express our thanks and gratitude for the Vets, Clinics, Foster families, Volunteers and various organizations who help us to rescue and re-home these dogs – often at their own personal expense.

When we have a crisis, like recently having to take on a batch of 20 neglected dogs, it cripples our cash flow

We appeal to everybody to help us help a Labrador in need.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference.

Thank you to those who have donated, and especially to those who continue to do so.

Your generosity is much appreciated and you do make a difference!
